ERIN PETRE LIS devotes her practice to construction litigation, pre-suit dispute resolution, and risk management consulting in the design and construction industries. Prior to joining HPSS, Ms. Lis worked at an Atlanta-based civil litigation firm practicing in the areas of insurance defense and insurance coverage, where she successfully litigated and defended against bodily injury and property damage suits inside and outside of the courtroom – including sitting first chair on a two-day jury trial with resulting defense verdict.

Ms. Lis earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the University of Georgia in 2007 and her J.D., with honors, from Georgia State University College of Law in 2014.  During law school, she studied abroad at Bar-Ilan University in Ramat Gan, Israel. She also held internships at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, for the Honorable John J. Goger in the Superior Court of Fulton County, and at an Atlanta insurance subrogation firm specializing in product defects, construction defects, and property damage due to fire and water loss.

Prior to entering law school, Ms. Lis worked for an Atlanta-based architecture, planning, and design firm for three years, where she collaborated with the interior design and architecture studios in the design of a variety of commercial, public, and religious interiors. After becoming a LEED Accredited Professional in 2008, Ms. Lis also researched and prepared submissions to prove adherence to requisite green building standards to obtain LEED certification on architectural projects.

Ms. Lis lives in Johns Creek with her husband, son, and daughter. While not in the office, she loves throwing dinner parties for family and friends, restoring old furniture, and painting.
